The Bodø based band Virkelig are one of the youngest and hippest bands in the north, and really made their mark last winter. They are making their way up to ever bigger arenas and have topped Norwegian radio pop lists with their tunes. The Harstad band Santus has also been making waves and tonight they will join Virkelig as a warm up band.
Virkelig consists of four 17 year olds called Tobias, Emil, Sondre and Erlend from Bodø. The Band released their first record - ”Cecilie” in October 2015, and the song is approaching 70.000 plays on Spotify. Virkelig has warmed up for the star turn Sondre Justad at a sold out Rockefeller gig in Oslo. They gave a showcase concert at Tilt during the festival By:Larm in March, and were chosen as a demo band for the pop branch festival Trondheim Calling. This youth band are in great demand this summer and will appear at various festivals.
Virkelig has opened concerts with artists such Emilie Nicolas and Ida Maria in their home town of Bodø. «Cecilie» was picked as radio channel P3´s song of the week, and has been a regular on the channel´s C-list for many weeks. The band released their second single "Uansett ka" in February 2016.
The Harstad band Santus are a post-rock inspired group which was formed in August 2015. They are a young band that build up a soundworld of guitar harmonies which underpin strong and distinct vocals lurching from flowing melodies to in-your-face torrents of sound. The single ”Tell Me” was released on P3´s rock programme service where it held onto a top spot for a considerable time, and was also played various times on the local station P1 Troms. The single led to the band being hand picked by Monster Entertainment as participants in the TV project "The Stream”. In the pipeline are a new single and video called ”Navy”.
The band has had gigs at home in Harstad, at Vinterfestuka in Narvik and are ready for "Landsås Cup-konserten" and The Arctic Arts Festival. At the moment they are in the studio recording the album "The Walls Can Speak" which has a release date of the 22nd April.
