The Eco-psychologist Per Espen Stoknes´ reflections and music performed by students from the Tromsø Conservatory of Music.
Per Espen Stoknes is a psychologist and lecturer from BI. He will speak about the relationship between humans and trees from a psychological perspective.
During the last decade the field of eco-psychology has grown as an international phenomenon. Eco-psychology describes how our identity - our sense of self, is bound to eco-systems around us and to the earth itself.
- "The soul" exists not just within us but interacts with nature´s external processes in many ways. It is high time humanity participated actively in bringing about the healing and protection of the earth´s own regenerative processes, underlines Per Espen Stoknes.
These challenging and important thoughts around eco-psychology are accompanied by music performed by the gifted soprano Lill-Olaug Sørensen and talented pianist Maria Jakobsen who are both star students at the Tromsø Conservatory of Music. We will hear beautiful songs by Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Mendelssohn, Wolf and Faure. Lill-Olaug Sørensen comes from Ringvassøy outside Tromsø, and began to take singing lessons at the age of 17. She has sung in the choir in La Traviata, and sung with the North Norwegian Opera. She has also sung solo roles in Puccini´s Suor Angelica together with the northern Norwegian opera star Hamida Kristoffersen. Lill-Olaug has participated in numerous solo and ensemble performances at the conservatory.
It´s not just words and music we offer but tasty soup made by the Studentsamskipnadens canteen from special recipes by the fine restaurant Umami. Note that soup is included in the price! The performance "To be in the far North" by masters student Maja Skogstad from the Higher Education College of Oslo and Akershus is also in the vicinity. This performance runs onboard the Schooner Anna Rogde which is moored outside Ludo on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
