The trio Fotefar consists of district musicians from northern Norway and has been a trio for a decade. Now they have immersed themselves in the poetry of Edvard Ruud, his rich musical kingdom and the folk songs he collected.
Fotefar like to experiment and freely form their arrangements, keeping alive well known northern Norwegian expression with their burlesque texts, feelgood tunes, melancholy, and a fine dose of craziness.
Through dipping into the archives and conversations with Ruud´s friends and colleagues, they have arrived at northern Norwegian versions of beloved folk tunes, plus legends and lullabies which have never been recorded or used before. Folk fiddle, song, guitars, organs and mouthorgan all contribute to this trio format.
Fotefar consists of the fiddler Julie Alapnes (substitute for Ragnhild Furebotten), guitarist Bendik Lund Haanshus and Lena Jinnegren (vocals, keyboards and mouthorgan).
This performance has been realised in collaboration with Kultur i Troms.
