The prost in Trondenes, Arne Håkonseth, has put together a thought provoking programme for this year´s Festspillgudstjeneste.
The theme is pilgrimsferd and historical and cultural links between northern Norway and northern Russia. The service will consist of much loved Norwegian hymns and exquisite choral music from the Russian Orthodox tradition. The music will be sung by one of Russia´s most established and celebrated choirs. The Petrozavodsk State Academic University Choir has won numerous international prizes and awards.
They perform regularly at the World Choir Games and have built up a vast repertoire of both established classics and newly commissioned work. During the service they will be conducted by their brilliant young conductor Nikolai Matashin.
