Snakka San & Sver in the last two years have introduced the world to the genre of Folkhall. No one else combines dance and folk music quite like them. Snakka San from Gothenburg and the norwegian/swedish folk musicians in Sver give a live show which puts the Hiphop into Halling. Young and old are bound to hit the dance floor. It might be chilly outside, but inside Nordic it will be roasting!
Probably the world´s only ”folkhall”-band, Snakka San and SVER are bound for Harstad. The unusual kombination of club and folk music was forged during a free-for-all jam session where the musicians found themselves standing at a crossroads between club music, Swedish reggae and hardingfele dance music…a new genre was born…Folkhall.

Dancehall is for now a relatively unfamiliar genre in Norway. It has its roots in the jamaican dance clubs of the 1970´s and takes its inspiration from reggae.
- This might very well lead to a happening you will sincerely regret missing, states Festival Director Tone Winje.
The collaboration began in 2011, and in 2014 a debut album followed. Perhaps you have heard the radio hit ”Bom Bom Blam Blam Blam”, which has ruled the airwaves on P3 both in Sweden and in Norway.
