Likholmen are the winners of our tour stipend for 2014. A groundbreaking audiovisual orchestra comprising of four contrasting musicians which promises a great deal of creative electricity.
- It was a very challenging task to award our tour stipends this year. We received even more fabulous applications from both young and established artists, reports festival producer James Clapperton, who is responsible for giving out the awards.
Likholmen is a thrilling visual and musical concept; modern folksong in nordnorsk, with a knowing nod to other genres. Melodious and coolly mellow. The band gave its debut in December 2014 in a boathouse in Bodø, and enjoyed glowing reports from spectators. Their debut album will be recorded in May 2015 and will be released this Autumn.
Vokalist Æ – Erling Ramskjell - recently recorded an album in Sweden which also hit the shelves this march in Norway.
Ingeborg Schistad has performed all over Northern Norway under the stage name of Ingeborg Oktober since she was 15. She is booked for several festivals this summer. Her debutalbum "Hjerteræk" was released in october 2014, and VG described her as "A Shining Light out there in the far regions", they cast the dice and awarded her a mark of five.
- A new comet was launched towards the folk music heavens, wrote Lofotposten.
Kåre Ramskjell brings his characteristic pump organ to the show and rich keyboard technique. He is also about to release an album with the band Nagel. Kåre is a member of Æs sister band "Dem".
Martin Losvik is the mastermind behind the orchestra´s visual backdrop. He has established his own voice within the world of photography based digital graphics. Martin will have his own exhibition at the Bodø Jazz Open this year.
