Festival Events Year Round, locally and internationally

The Festival of North Norway annually produces several self-produced concerts and performances, or are hosts for new stagings of theatrical productions and music. Some of these productions are sent on tour in the Northern Areas with the rationale that allowing people other than the local festival audiences to take part in the events is a good allocation of resources. These performances often consist of collaborative projects with multinational participants. Sometimes they involve large international projects performed both in the Northern Areas and elsewhere in the world.

Cooperation with cultural centres, ensembles, festivals and other professional circles in the Northern Areas is important for The Festival of North Norway. It is also a part of our role as a junction festival and it is one of the mandates of our goal documents. Our own productions and cooperation with others are also important prerequisites for receiving new impulses and testing out new formats. It is our perception that neither the public authorities nor our sponsors or audiences want us to be a step behind, but rather two steps ahead.
