Love alone can be a refugee in the world when the power and anxiety spiral is allowed to rise unabated. A musical dialogue between musicians from the USA, Iran and Norway.
The start of this concert under the midnight sun will be the exciting international framework for the duets between Iranian singer Mahs a Vahdat, who guested us in January, and blues legend Mighty Sam McClain from the Usa. Newly written tunes by Bernhoft/Reiersrud/Dagsland/Vahda, som traditional Iranian music, all of it recorded this spring.
In 2009 KKV released "Scent of Reunion - Love Duets Across Civilisations" featuring the two singers. This project did not go unnoticed in many countries, and particularly by Iranians in Iran and in exile.
In 2012 KKV has taken the project a step further. Among the themes are love, conditions and freedom of expression under regimes that rule by force and using anxiety as an element and element of focus. Among the titles we will hear are "Sun of Iran", "Refugee of Love" and "A Lover's Prayer".
