Scandinavia's finest joiker, Inga Juuso, and jazz bass player Steinar Raknes challenge the genres. Together they have developed a completely special energy and have created an entirely new musical landscape.
Over the period of a decade these two have played together, influenced one another and developed a special synergy and communicatability. The result is a distinctive musical form of expression in which joik and acoustic bass take up an equal amount of space. The duo has a head-on stage presence and creates an atmosphere that spans from the soft and lyrical to the explosively energetic. A new feature is that Steinar Raknes introduces tunes from his own vocal repertoire. Juuso and Raknes are the biggest export item of Kultur i Troms; they play festivals, clubs and cultural centres throughout the world. This concert is in collaboration with Kultur i Troms.
